Plastic Free July
Despite the damage, it causes the environment, plastic is the number one product people use on a daily basis, the majority of which are single-use
Product development that meets the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.
Bonnie Bio is a well-established, internationally distributed and represented brand that manufactures and supplies a wide range of compostable products and packaging solutions that are a sustainable and environmentally responsible alternative.
We endeavour to supply world leading products and packaging solutions with international certification for compostability, food grade, quality and sustainability.
Compostable” by definition means that a material is able to decompose back into natural elements such as biomass, water and C02 without leaching any toxins into the environment during the decomposition process.
Bonnie Bio works with like-minded people & industries that believe in our same value sets to help create a wave of meaningful change.
Our products are all made from natural ingredients with no chemical additives to ensure non-toxicity and allow for complete compostability.
They are incredibly environmentally friendly as they break down back into CO2, water and biomass, which are all renewable resources. They DO NOT leach any toxins into the environment whilst breaking down.
Since the invention of petroleum-based plastic, around 165 million tonnes of it has been reported to find its way into our oceans. Estimates suggest that more than 8 million tonnes of plastic currently end up in our oceans each year and that number is growing.
The research shows that up to 50% of plastic is used only once and then thrown away and that we’re only recycling 9% of the plastic we’re using. Traditional petroleum-based plastic not only takes up to 500 years to decompose but also leaches toxic chemicals into the environment while decomposing. We are slowly ruining our planet and it’s time to change this.
Bonnie Bio Compostable wants to make a difference. We believe that the use of our certified compostable products will contribute to the sustainability of the planet for our current and future generations by offering alternative options to petroleum-based plastics, without compromising its usefulness. Our products are toxin-free & environmentally kind.
Compostable materials are those that can be broken down by microorganisms into water, carbon dioxide, mineral salts and new biomass within a defined period of time.
Compostable alternatives are made of natural plant starch, and do not produce any toxic material.
Compostable alternatives break down readily in a composting system through microbial activity to form compost.
Compostable alternatives biodegrade into Water + Carbon Dioxide + Bio Mass
While compostable products are biodegradable and revert to natural elements, biodegradable materials are not compostable.
We have partnered with like-minded distributors around the world – here is what they have to say.
